The government announced further closure of educational institutions, and decided to conduct 9th to 12th class examinations
ISLAMABAD: The government has announced closure of educational institutions from class I to VIII in the affected districts till April 28, while children from class IX to XII will be allowed to come everywhere and classes will be strict. SOPs will be implemented from, ninth to 12th class examinations are being conducted which will be held in the third week of May.
According to details, Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood while addressing a press conference said that educational institutions were closed till April 11 and consultations were held in the meeting on whether to reopen them or not. The schedule has also been decided. There are two types of examinations in the country, one for 9th to 12th class and the other for A and O level examinations.
Shafqat Mehmood said that it has been decided that not every area is affected but from the affected districts, educational institutions from class I to VIII have been closed till April 28. Thirteen districts of Punjab are affected, therefore these 13 districts This restriction will apply to,
Similarly, closure of educational institutions in Sindh has also been announced. Shafqat Mahmood said that it was up to the provinces to decide which districts were affected where educational institutions would be closed but a meeting would be held again on April 28 to discuss whether to keep the institutions closed or reopen till Eid.
The Education Minister said that examinations are to be held from class IX to XII so they will be allowed to come to educational institutions with strict SOPs so that they can complete their studies and prepare for the examinations. Announcing the universities, he said that the universities in the affected districts would remain closed till April 28, but in the districts which were not affected, the universities would function as usual.
Shafqat Mehmood said that 4 million children from 9th to 12th class take exams all over Pakistan, including 30 boards, there will be exams from 9th class to 12th, these are our local exams so they will be in the third week of May It will be taken away, the new date sheet issued by Punjab is also being carried forward, the children will also get a chance to prepare. He said that 80 per cent examinations are being conducted all over the world, A and O level examinations will be held as per the date sheet and SOPs will be strictly enforced in the meantime.
