Religious protest, demonstrators began assaulting police officers and personnel

 Protesters tore the uniforms of Punjab police personnel, beat them severely with sticks


Lahore: Protests of religious party workers are still going on in different parts of the country, in view of which the traffic system is chaotic and citizens are facing severe difficulties. During the sit-ins and protests of religious political parties, several cities of the country were set on fire and public and private property was severely damaged.

However, now the protesters have started torturing only police officers and personnel. According to details, angry people stormed the police station and set fire to a police mobile van. Not only this, the protesters also inflicted the worst torture on the security police officers and personnel in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Policemen were injured in the violent protesters who were given medical aid.

The protesters also tore the uniforms of the on-duty Punjab police personnel while some of them were severely beaten. According to a statement issued by the Punjab Police, a policeman was martyred during the protest while more than 40 officers and personnel were injured.

It may be recalled that even today, the Punjab Home Department had summoned the Rangers to clear the roads due to traffic jams and severe problems faced by the citizens in different cities of Punjab including Lahore. According to the Home Department, the force will be provided in any city where Rangers are needed. Clashes continue between protesters and police across the province. According to Home Department sources, Rangers have been called in to clear the roads. Rangers will assist the police and the district administration.
