"We have called a ceasefire between Pakistan and India," the major Arab country confirmed the mediation

Washington: The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that it has mediated a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India.

Addressing a function, UAE Ambassador to the United States Yousuf Al-Atiba said that his country had mediated in the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India on Kashmir issue.  He said that Pak-India talks on ceasefire were held in the United Arab Emirates in January.

The UAE Ambassador clarified that the recent steps may not result in Pak-India friendship but we are trying to make the relationship such that the two countries talk.  It is hoped that relations between the two countries will be restored.
